"...And I always find, yeah, I always find somethin' wrong
You been puttin' up wit' my shit just way too long
I'm so gifted at findin' what I don't like the most
So I think it's time for us to have a toast..."
I had to reference the song because of the title of the post.
Unlike Kanye, I'm also gifted at finding things that I DO really like: People that go out of their way to help others, for the sake of doing good.
So it snowed another 30cm last night in London (fml), and my van was a disaster again. It took me a good half hour to clear the snow of the windshields and the sides because I did not have a shovel and was using my good old hockey stick. So obviously, there was still some snow left on the roof that I just couldn't clear with the tools that I had.
Anyways, I went to get some gas, and while I was pumping, this random guy pulled up in a truck and was like "The police have been hiding and giving $75 tickets to everyone for driving with any snow on the roof of their cars". He then asked me to pull to the side, gave me his shovel from the back of his truck, and waited while I cleared off the top of my car. He then drove away, and I didn't catch his name or anything.
What makes this story better? A few blocks later, I saw a police car pulling out of a side street to stop another car that had some snow on its roof, just as I drove by.
Moral of the story: Go out of your way to do good for yourself, and for others. Not only does it make YOU feel good, but if you believe in any sort of Karma at all, how can you not be rewarded for doing so?
